Introducing our newest cohort

We’re excited to introduce our first Centering Community in Decision Making cohort!

This group of organizers and advocates is working to ensure our communities are heard, empowered, and represented in decision making spaces. We’re using the space to strengthen our collective approaches to decision making, and support each other as we advocate for policies and practices that are shaped by community needs and expertise.

Voices for Racial Justice is convening and supporting this group because we believe that everyone knows what they need to live with dignity and joy - but right now, people with power ignore the needs and lived experience of the communities who will be most impacted by their decisions, and decision making spaces are designed to be hostile to advocates who go to bat for our communities.

Our work is planting the seeds for a future where we share as a collective, felt value: people know what they need to live with dignity and joy; where communities have a direct say in the decisions that impact us at every level of government, organization, and relationship; and where decisions will be made that support people to determine their own realities.

Join us in welcoming the cohort, and learn about the community-centered work they’re moving forward this spring!
