Be a ‘Prophetic Voice’ on April 4

ISAIAHThis gathering of African American people of faith, organized by the strong voices for racial justice at ISAIAH, will lift your spirits!

Thursday, April 4, 2013

10:00-11:00 a.m.

Minnesota Capitol Rotunda

The time is now for action. Minnesota’s African American communities face some of the largest disparities in the country.

  • Only 49% of African American students graduate from high school on time.
  • Minnesota has the highest employment gap in the country between African Americans and whites.
  • The median household income for African Americans in our state is the lowest of all racial and ethnic groups.

Use your voice to Speak, Challenge, and Urge on a path to greater justice for African Americans in Minnesota.

ISAIAH testifies at integration hearing–come show your support this Thursday

The bi-partisan recommendations of the Integration Revenue Task Force we followed in 2011 and advocated for in 2012 are finally getting a real hearing at the Capitol! This week there will be a hearing in the House Education Policy committee:

THURSDAY, February 14, 2013, 10:00 AM in the Basement Hearing Room at the State Office Building

ISAIAH will be testifying in support of HF247, implementing the Integration Revenue Task Force’s recommendations. Please join us at the hearing to show our collective support for the proposed ‘Achievement and Integration for Minnesota’ program to increase equitable educational opportunities and prepare all Minnesota students to be effective citizens in a multi-racial state. Let us know if you can be there!  Email Sarah Gleason at if you’ll be there.
