Please join the Health Equity Working Committee on April 3rd for the 3rd ANNUAL HEALTH EQUITY DAY, a day to celebrate ourselves and each other; to make connections between our communities, causes, and equity visions; and to listen and learn from each other to grow the movement.
2013 has been a year to advance significant health equity and other social equity bills at the MN Legislature. As Health Equity Advocates, we are all engaged in this work – as service providers, organizers, and engaged community members. Our voices are being heard at the Capitol on issues related to health care reform, tobacco taxes, same-sex marriage, minimum wage, etc. — but it’s not over yet. These issues and many more continue to need our support.
Representative Rena Moran will be kicking off the day at Christ Lutheran Church in the morning.
Senators Bobby Joe Champion and Jeff Hayden will share their visions of health equity and challenge us to accept our role in achieving health equity for Minnesota as communities of color, LGBTQ, American Indian and allied communities.
Registration is FREE. healthequityday2013.eventbrite.com
Lunch will be provided for those who attend the Community Workshop (9am-1:45pm)
Then let’s fill the Capitol Great Hall at 2pm for the Health Equity Rally.
